1 out of 5 stars Don't buy it.   September 4, 2010

I HAVE HAD THIS GHT225 ONE DAY, IF I HAD PAID FOR IT, IT WOULD BE GOING BACK FOR MY $ BACK. I GOT IT FOR FREE ON PRIZE POINTS. I JUST FINISHED TRIMMING ABOUT A 40 FOOT HEDGE. IT TOOK ABOUT 30 MINUTES BECAUSE I HAD TO RE-START THE THING ABOUT 20 TIMES DUE TO THE CHOKE SLIPPING INTO FULL CHOKE, EITHER CATCHING ON MY SHIRT OR BRANCHES CATCHING IT.TERRIBLE DESIGN FOR THIS TO KEEP HAPPENING, YOU CAN'T AVOID IT SHORT OF COVERING WITH TAPE, WHAT A HASSLE. SOMEONE EARLIER SAID HE HAD CUT HIS CHOKE LEVER OFF, MAYBE I'LL TRY THAT. IF I COULD SELL IT FOR 25 BUCKS I WOULD, MAYBE E-BAY?

5 out of 5 stars Weed Eater Headge Trimmer   August 6, 2010

This is my second weed eater headge trimmer. I replaced the first after many years of service. The fact that I chose the same brand speaks volumes about my satisfaction with weed eater and their products.

4 out of 5 stars No more electric extension cord   March 27, 2010

I found the other reviews to be fairly accurate, this trimmer is not for commercial use. It works above and beyond my Black & Decker electric trimmer, and no long elec. cord to drag n cut. The choke lever issue (bumping it on) is easily fixed with trimming it shorter. (it's plastic). For an Economical cordless trimmer, the Weed Eater GHT225 works for the jobs I need done at home.

1 out of 5 stars Not as Effective as One Might Think   June 25, 2009

I bought this because I wanted a cost effective and efficient alternative to my regular nail clippers (which take over 5 minutes for one hand). These do accomplish the task more expediently, but I'm afraid they lack the precision required to be truly effective. The other day, I decided to trim my toenails before heading out for work. I got out my trimmer and started it up and it only took about 2 seconds for each foot. At first, I thought that it was a satisfying product, but, later, as the blood seeped out my shoes and onto the office room floor, garnering puzzled and concerned looks from my coworkers, I thought that, perhaps, this product is not exactly what I'm looking for.
On the other hand, I have not had to trim my toenails again since then. The cuticles no longer exist.
This tool should probably only be used for tasks which don't require quite as much precision, such as haircuts.

1 out of 5 stars Piece of crap   June 24, 2009

I guess the title says it all. Except for the motor and blade the whole thing is made of plastic. If it doesn't feel like starting be prepared for a heart attack trying to start it. The choke is in a bad location and will shut itself off, again making it a bear to start.

Mine is 3 years old but considering I only use it 3 times a year after 9 shots it is worthless. I took it to a small engine repair shop and he said the head was blown and could not be repaired; he also informed me the life expectancy on these units is about 50 hours. I wanted a Honda 4 stroke but I am not about to pay over 800 bucks for a hedge trimmer. I got their little rototiller though. Damn good I must say.

Anyway I bought the Black & Decker 24 in electric. I am back to the "umbilical cord".
